The picturesque park surrounding the Kreiskulturzentrum in Zons is currently undergoing a significant renovation, with an investment of approximately 330,000 euros. This transformation is part of the preparations for Zons' upcoming 650th anniversary in 2023, making it an exciting time for the medieval fortress town.

Landscape gardeners and construction companies have been working diligently on the preparations for weeks. The renovation includes the preparation of hedges and paths, clearing and cleaning of overgrown areas, and planting new trees. In total, around 39,000 perennials and flower plants will be planted in the park, creating a vibrant and colourful landscape.

Two benches have been set up as viewing and resting points on the so-called Belvedere, providing a perfect spot for visitors to take a break and enjoy the refreshed surroundings. These benches were commissioned by the district from the Grevenbroicher Varius workshops, a recognised workshop for people with disabilities.

The deputy director of the district museum recently joined a tour to inspect the progress of the preparations. The Building Commissioner and Project Manager expressed their satisfaction with the clearing and planting work, signalling a positive outlook for the park's future.
