Wuppertal's 125th: 'Designing Our Sustainable Future' Festival on May 25

Wuppertal is set to host the 'Designing Our Sustainable Future' festival on May 25, 2025. The event, held at the Historical Town Hall and Junior University Wuppertal, celebrates the city's 125th anniversary and focuses on sustainability. It will feature an exhibition, lectures, and an award ceremony hosted by a popular TV presenter.

The festival will showcase regional companies, institutions, and start-ups in sustainability. Interactive activities will engage visitors of all ages. The 'City of the Future' exhibit, presented by the Wuppertal Institute, will demonstrate concrete solutions for transitioning to resource-efficient cities. Marine biologist and environmental advocate Robert Marc Lehmann will deliver a lecture. The highlight of the event is the award ceremony of the Junior University's project competition, hosted by Julian Janssen, known as 'Checker Julian'.
