Wine Produced in Bad Dürkheim Enjoyed in Kempten Receives Acclaim

In the picturesque town of Kempten, news and events abound. From cultural exchanges to sports achievements, there's always something to look forward to.

Mayor Natalie Bauernschmitt recently reflected on the long-standing relationship between Kempten and its partner city, Bad Dürkheim. This partnership, 75 years old and set to be celebrated next year, has been a cornerstone of Kempten's international relations.

While detailed information about the specifics of this partnership, such as historical establishment, cultural exchanges, joint events, and recent developments, could not be found in a recent search, it is common in German municipalities for such partnerships to involve these elements.

Mayor Thomas Kiechle of Kempten was thrilled to welcome a delegation from all five partner cities this year, indicating the continued importance of these relationships.

Meanwhile, outside the realm of municipal politics, Kempten's wine enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the traditional wine tasting of the current patron wine from Bad Dürkheim. This event, taking place at the Allgäu Festival in the city park of Kempten, promises a delightful experience. The wine, a Riesling Kabinett, is lightly fruity with a citrus note, and hails from the Steinberg, a location near a piece of forest in a slightly cooler region.

The effects of climate change are less noticeable in the region where the wine comes from, a testament to its cooler climate. The history of the wine's production and the partnership between the two cities will be celebrated at this event.

Traditionally, the last year's art prize winner, Julia Obermaier, designs the labels for the patron wine. This year, the honour of presenting the wine fell to Rami I., the first wine prince from Kempten's Palatine partner city. His presentation was supported by Roland Altvater from the Winemakers' Cooperative Vier Jahreszeiten.

Elsewhere in Kempten, vocational training in social skills is being promoted in Isny, and LG Allgäu had a successful appearance at the Bavarian Mountain Running Championships at Tegelberg.

For those who wish to stay informed about the most important stories in Kempten, the Kreisbote newsletter or the new "Kreisbote" app is an excellent resource. The event calendar provides information on events, concerts, and exhibitions in Kempten and the surrounding area.

For precise and current information about the partnership between Kempten and Bad Dürkheim, it is recommended to consult the official municipal websites or local government communications of both cities directly.
