The Black Forest Open-Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach starts its October calendar with a packed weekend of activities for all ages. From learning about rural life to food preservation and crafting, there's something for everyone.

The weekend begins on October 3rd with a trip back in time. The 'The Good Old Days' tour offers a fascinating glimpse into rural life from yesteryears. Meanwhile, families can engage in a creative session, crafting a small scale in the Open Workshop.

The following day, October 4th, sees the Gutach Women's Association hosting a Women's Day event in the Falkenhof smokehouse. Attendees can enjoy fresh waffles and sweet potato soup. The museum also hosts its Herbstferienprogramm, a fall season programme that might include traditional or cultural demonstrations related to local plants like horseradish.

On October 5th, the Harvest Festival takes centre stage. Visitors can learn about food preservation, with a tour focused on horseradish and samples to taste. Additionally, families can participate in a workshop to learn about preserving vegetables.

The Black Forest Open-Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach promises a weekend filled with learning, creativity, and delicious food. From history to hands-on activities and culinary delights, it's an event not to be missed.
