Audu Ogbeh, a visionary leader and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has passed away. The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) paid tribute to Ogbeh, honouring his memory and commitment to Nigeria's growth.
Ogbeh, who served as a minister, farmer, and statesman, died on Saturday. NACCIMA, in a statement, described him as a devoted leader who dedicated his life to promoting agriculture, commerce, and national development. The association expressed condolences to his family and prayed for their fortitude.
Mr. Jani Ibrahim, NACCIMA's President, praised Ogbeh's contributions. He highlighted Ogbeh's intellectual versatility, discussing literature, political theory, and agricultural innovations with ease. Ogbeh's creative works enriched Nigeria's cultural space, embodying integrity, vision, and hard work in leadership.
As a minister, Ogbeh aimed to transform Nigeria's agricultural landscape. He recognised the link between food security, national security, and economic prosperity. His reforms sought to strengthen these areas. Ogbeh also established Efugo Farms in Makurdi, featuring rice mills, cashew plantations, and poultry operations. This demonstrated his belief in local production for economic self-reliance.
NACCIMA committed to honouring Ogbeh's memory by upholding the ideals he embodied: integrity in leadership, excellence in service, and belief in the Nigerian people's productive capacity. His soul was wished to rest in peace, with his exemplary life continuing to guide efforts towards building a prosperous and equitable Nigeria.
