Vietnam's Infrastructure Boom: 455km of Expressways Completed in 9 Months

Vietnam has made significant strides in infrastructure development in the first nine months of 2025. The country has completed 455km of expressways and put six road projects into operation. Additionally, 39,245 social housing units are expected to be finished by the end of the year.

The newly completed expressways include the Vân Phong - Nha Trang Expressway, which is now ready for operation. This 107km stretch connects Cổ Mã Tunnel in Đại Lãnh Commune to Diên Thọ Commune in Khánh Hòa Province. Meanwhile, nine new road projects have been launched, covering upgrades, expansions, and new connections.

In the social housing sector, 692 projects are currently underway nationwide, with a planned supply of 633,559 units. As of early 2025, 43,681 units have been completed. By the end of 2025, an additional 39,245 units are expected to be finished, bringing the total to 83,926 units.

The Ministry of Construction is also pushing forward with railway projects. It is expediting procedures for the Lào Cai-Hà Nội-Hải Phòng railway project and the North-South high-speed railway.

With VNĐ38.4 trillion (US$1.6 billion) already disbursed from the allocated VNĐ87.2 trillion (US$3.4 billion) for 2025, Vietnam's infrastructure development is on track. The completion of 455km of expressways and the progress in social housing projects demonstrate the government's commitment to improving the country's infrastructure and housing sector.
