Get ready, folks! It's almost time for the massive maritime Volksfest, marking Hamburg's Harbor Birthday, starting from this Friday. With over a million revelers expected, the 836th edition promises a blast just like the city itself - colorful and captivating!
The festivities kick off with an opening service at 11:00 AM at the Michel. At 1:00 PM, prepare to be awed by the Elbe's breathtaking entrance parade. The harbor's transforming into a lively, maritime carnival on the Michel Wiesen, where a maritime family festival awaits you! This year, the tugboat ballet grooves to the tunes of Burgenland's music - our partner region for 2025!
Starting Friday, we've got fantastic performances lined up. Singer Nina Chuba serenades us, while Lotto King Karl brings back the city's glorious past with his music. And you simply can't miss the incredible musical scenes from "MJ - Das Michael Jackson Musical" - they'll make you feel like your stuck in the middle of a Broadway show!
A floating stage will set sail on the Elbe, decorated with harbor lights, offering an enchanting setting. On Saturday, Johannes Oerding will perform not one, but two chart-toppers at the harbor's birthday gala on the ponton stage. As the night falls, proceedings culminate in a grand, dazzling fireworks display!
