Tribute paid to the departed

The tall ship LaBonClaudine, anchored at Blighters Rock, was a bustling hub of activity on this sunny day. The ship, with its rich history and nautical charm, provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with learning, creativity, and entertainment.

Newbie taler, a novice sailor, was diligently learning the abc of ropes and knots on the ship. His focus was unwavering as he navigated the complex web of ropes, guided by the experienced Able Bodied Crew of trustee's.

Meanwhile, at the Pagano kiosk, a gleaming Carpigiani was oozing gelato, its sweet aroma wafting through the air. Young Julian, ignoring his father's advice, was learning the butcher trade nearby, his eyes often straying towards the tantalising treats.

A Biplane swooped low, a wing walker shouting through a megaphone, adding a thrilling spectacle to the day. The crowd cheered, whistled, and bell rang as Morris dancers hit each other with sticks, their lively dance adding to the festive atmosphere.

Coloured cards were floating down like confetti to outstretched hands, creating a vibrant spectacle. Try Tie Dye with Di was demonstrating beach-found materials to create paste, teaching a group of children how to create their own unique designs.

A small dog with large paws was eyeing up the sausages, its tail wagging in anticipation. The Fishermen's Friends were singing "What shall we do with the drunken sailor", their harmonious voices filling the air with music.

Walrus, a friendly sea creature, was nudging a Pea-Green boat up onto the sand, while an Owl and a Pussycat were on board, covered in honey and unable to steer. The submarine Swansea surfaced, and helmsman JoDo was asking for help to dry out books, adding a touch of the unexpected to the day's events.

As the day drew to a close, Captain T Cook was dancing the Hornpipe on the poop deck, his lively dance echoing the spirit of the day. Airyfairy and Lenchenelf were preparing a brew for writers block, while Starfish Girl was chatting to school children ankle deep in the rock pool, sharing her knowledge of the marine life.

The setting of LaBonClaudine at Blighters Rock was more than just a backdrop. It was a living, breathing entity that shaped the day's events, influencing the mood, limiting the characters' options, and enhancing the suspense and conflict. The tangible environment, the rich history, and the cultural-historical background combined to create a believable and emotionally resonant story world.
