The 'Männerjass' Grenadier Squadron members, who initially signed up, will be participating at the Old Village's Christmas market from November 30th to December 1st. However, their repeated service ends after these dates.

Tradition of Kaarster Rifle Parade concludes after years of occurrence.

LOL, we're like the senior citizens of Kaarst, grins Günther Orke, a member of the Grenadiers, affectionately known as "Men's Jass." These elderly gentlemen have all celebrated their 70th birthdays and more. The festive spirit wasn't confined to the farm of the Old Mill on Büdicher Street, mind you. It was their brainchild to host a Christmas market near the Romanesque church, and "Men's Jass" was more than eager to join the venture. They've since revitalized the Old Village with an unparalleled charm that Orke can't help but adore.

The camaraderie within the group is heartwarming, as they've managed to keep the pre-Christmas joy alive for numerous years. And in true giving spirit, a portion of their profits were generously donated to deserving families in Kaarst. It seems many members are actively engaged in local initiatives like "Kaarster helps" and the Senior Initiative Kaarst's woodworking workshop, embodying their social consciousness.

The price of cider, a warm favorite for visitors, has been consistent for years at 2.50 euros a glass – community above all! Unfortunately, this Christmas market will mark the last appearance of "Men's Jass." However, before they pass the reins to the next generation, there's still a chance to raise a glass to their well-being and the good deeds they’ve done. Rolf Retzlaff

Although information on a "Men's Jass" group specifically isn't abundant, Kaarst, their home town, is part of the Städteverbund Meerbusch – Kaarst – Korschenbroich. This union encourages cultural activities and workshops, including those held during holiday seasons, though not explicitly for Christmas.[3] To discover more about Kaarst's holiday festivities and charitable endeavors, you may wish to contact local community centers or cultural organizations directly.
