Touring the Residence: Alumni Apartment 304

In the heart of campus, two distinctive dorm rooms have become more than just living spaces – they're warm and inviting homes for their residents.

Alumni 304, home to Ashley Parrow '26, Emily Bulson, Nina Talamo, and Maeve Foley, all members of the Class of 2026, showcases a cohesive blend of colour, texture, and personal touches. The girls have transformed this space into a comfortable haven, with a soft pink glow, decorative pillows, chic colourful prints, and unique patterns adorning Nina and Maeve's room. A "Hello Gorgeous" neon sign, floral wallpaper, and a "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" banner add to the room's inviting charm.

Across campus, Loyola 1 is home to Caroline Kramer, Sophia Mariani, Claire Kraemer, and Mary Kate Murphy, also members of the Class of 2026. Their suite exudes an earthy, homely feel, offering a haven of comfort, joy, and friendship. The common area, adorned with posters, lights, and other colourful embellishments, serves as a place for the girls to unwind and watch TV.

The decorative strategies employed in both Alumni 304 and Loyola 1 can serve as inspiration for those looking to create a warm and inviting home in their college dorm rooms. Key strategies include choosing a soft, cohesive colour palette, layering textures, incorporating personalised wall art, adding subtle metallic accents, using practical, stylish lighting, bringing in greenery, and including organisational and functional decor.

On October 25, the College Choir and Chamber Singers performed their annual fall concert in the Luth Concert Hall of the Prior Performing Arts Center. The concert, titled Sunshine Over the Blessed Earth, brought together a thoughtfully curated range of performances. Notably, Caroline Kramer, one of the residents of Loyola 1, is a Features Staff Writer for the college newspaper.

The Joyce Contemplative Center, located less than 20 minutes away from campus in West Boylston, offers students and alumni opportunities for reflection, prayer, and recharging away from campus. It also serves as the home for spiritual retreats. For those seeking a quiet, contemplative space, the JCC provides an ideal sanctuary.
