Tesla is set to debut its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) feature in Australia and New Zealand.
Tesla has officially announced the launch of its advanced driver-assistance software, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), in Australia and New Zealand. The rollout marks a significant milestone in Tesla's path toward global deployment of its driver assistance technology.
The announcement, teased by Australian media earlier this week, was made official on August 29. With this expansion, Tesla continues to push forward its global rollout of FSD (Supervised).
Every new Tesla sold in Australia will include a complimentary 30-day free trial of FSD (Supervised). Customers can subsequently purchase the software outright for $10,100 AUD or subscribe through a monthly plan. The system will initially be available on HW4-equipped Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.
CEO Elon Musk has teased that the next major version, FSD V14, could begin rolling out as early as September. Musk claims FSD V14 will be two to three times safer and better than human drivers.
The staged rollout of FSD (Supervised) in Australia and New Zealand is about to begin very soon. Tesla is exclusively responsible for developing the Full Self-Driving software for cars in these countries. The company began rolling out FSD (Supervised) in these countries in 2025, initially for vehicles with Hardware 4, after a period of testing and regulatory review.
FSD (Supervised) had cleared regulatory review in both Australia and New Zealand, as confirmed by Tesla in July. The system enables hands-free driving on public roads. Videos of the first real-world consumer tests of FSD in Australia have started surfacing online.
The Australian car review channel Chasing Cars noted that the software is "better than probably 60% of the drivers on Australian roads." With this launch, Tesla's hands-free driving technology is now available in right-hand drive (RHD) markets.
Local subscription pricing for the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software has not been disclosed yet. The expansion of FSD (Supervised) in Australia and New Zealand is part of Tesla's ongoing efforts to make autonomous driving a reality.
