Award for Finding the Missing "Mini" Teddy in Berlin: €1000 Reward
Reward of 1000 Euro offered for locating 'Mini' – Teddy's plea - Teddy urgently needed 1000 euros for the "Mini" to stay off the ground
In a bizarre yet heart-wrenching scenario, the city of Berlin is on the hunt for a cherished little teddy bear named "Mini". A whopping €1000 reward is being offered for its safe return, as adjourned on posters peppering the city. To further the search, the operation has been made multi-lingual with websites in English, Polish, Romanian, and Bulgarian. The man leading this hunt is none other than the owner of a gallery from Bielefeld, Marcus Erlenbauer.
But don't get the wrong idea—this is no art prank. The teddy bear holds immense sentimental value for Erlenbauer, acting as his talisman for the past 30 years, gifted by his late mother. The loss of this little yellow-onesie-clad bear is emotionally taxing for the 45-year-old: "It's something very, very special and irreplaceable for me."
The search for Mini is a desperate attempt throughout Berlin, even at the most unlikeliest spots where tips have pointed but haven't led to a breakthrough. Erlenbauer and his partner had the misfortune of leaving their valuables unattended at a restaurant along Unter den Linden Street on June 3rd, which thieves capitalized on. However, cards, credit cards, and IDs can be replaced—it's the bear alone that can't. "When you lose something so emotional, you suddenly have a problem, and your life is thrown off balance," admits Erlenbauer.
To make the search more widespread, they've offered a generous €1000 reward, information on which is translated across various languages. Flyers and Post-it notes dot the city, while social media awareness campaigns are underway to help locate the bear.
