Sumptuous lavender blooms grace the landscapes of Long Island, announcing the arrival of summer.

Let's dive headfirst into the sweet aroma and purple splendor of Long Island's wildest lavender farm, Lavender by the Bay. This mother of all lavender fields has been blooming its magic for over two decades, and it's high time you experience the enchantment for yourself!

Lavender's Crazy Love Story

It all started with a man named Serge who couldn't get enough of summers spent tending to a herd of cows in the heart of southern France. But love took hold when he met a wonderful woman named Susan, and together they moved Stateside in 1979.

With a heart full of nostalgia for his French countryside beginnings, Serge decided to bring a touch of his beloved homeland to their cozy Southold, NY retreat. He planted lavender everywhere, crafting an idyllic French landscape for his little slice of heaven. Susan, always resourceful, started transforming the extra blossoms into sachets, lavender sticks, and rustic bouquets to sell on the driveway. That was just the beginning!

The buzz about these aromatic gatherings grew louder and louder, and soon word spread about Serge's honeybees—the workers behind the sweet nectar they produced. People couldn't get enough! As demand for lavender and honey skyrocketed, the couple realized they needed more land to keep up, and that's when Lavender by the Bay blossomed!
