📍 Itching for an excuse to hit up Carleton Place? The Downtown Carleton Place Business Improvement Area (BIA) has you covered!
They're rolling out a series of insta-worthy photo installations throughout town with some help from the local government. By early June, there will be five of these bad boys scattered around town, with three already set up. Two larger installations are on their way near the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail and Market Square Pavilion.
"These installations are part of our spring and summer seasonal placemaking initiatives," said Paisley Woods, coordinator for the Downtown Carleton Place BIA. "The goal is to breathe life into our spaces and create opportunities for engagement and moments worth capturing."

- "♥️ LOCAL" - Located at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Bridge Street, near Cheerful Giver Non-Profit Thrift. A call to action to support local businesses.
- "♥️ CP" - Situated at Town Hall Square, 15 Mill St. This lively landmark encourages folks to capture memories and express their love for the town.
- "1819" - Nestled at 170 Bridge St., next to the Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Centre. A nod to the town's rich history, as it was founded in 1819, with roots tracing back to Tipperary, Ireland.
These installations not only showcase the town's community spirit but also pay homage to its history during May's Roots & Revival Placemaking event. Keep an eye out for the Hardy Boys-themed Scavenger Hunt and pop-up exhibits focusing on the town's heritage, also in line with Museum Month.
The installations are a long-term rental from Canadian company Pop Marquee, Woods told Inside Ottawa Valley. With the founder hailing from the Ottawa area, visitors and residents can enjoy these attractions all summer long.
