September's Wine Celebrations at Mosel, Rhine, and Ahr: A Scenic Tour of Grape Delights

The autumn season in the Rhineland is marked by the annual Winzerfest and wine festivals, with Dernau, Bachem, and Boppard each hosting their own unique celebrations.

On the third weekend of September, Dernau's Winzerfest takes place, culminating in a grand parade on Sunday at 2 PM. The outgoing Wine Queen, Alina Riske, was recently farewelled on Friday evening in Dernau, and the new Wine Queen 2025/26 and her princesses will be proclaimed on Saturday during the festivities. Many local associations participate in the parade, which serves as the highlight of the event.

Just a few days earlier, from September 19-21, Bachem hosts the Bachemer Weinfest FestiWein. This fusion of festival and wine features live music on the main stage, as well as on the side stage at the "crooked bridge". The event reaches its climax on Sunday evening with the 1,000 Lights Wine Harvest Parade. Regional wines are served at wine stands, accompanied by various music genres, making it a lively and enjoyable experience for all.

Simultaneously, from September 26-28, Dernau's 76th Winzerfest takes place, and Boppard's Wine Festival takes place on the market square from September 26 - October 5. Boppard's Wine Festival begins on Friday at 6 PM, and both events offer a diverse selection of regional wines for visitors to enjoy.

Rech's Winzerfest, which has been held since 1964, also takes place during this time, on the same weekend as Bachem's festival. The highlight of Rech's Winzerfest is the parade on Sunday afternoon, with the new Wine Majestäten being solemnly proclaimed.

While the new wine majesties for 2025/2026 in Dernau have not been explicitly named, the incumbent Weinkönigin Laura Assenmacher's term ends in 2025/26, and new wine majesties will be proclaimed at the event's opening on a Friday.

Meanwhile, the town of St. Goar hosts Rhein in Flammen on September 19-20, but specific details about the event were not provided in the search results.

Each of these festivals offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich wine culture and community spirit of the Rhineland, making them must-visit events for wine enthusiasts and tourists alike.
