Freital, a suburb of Dresden, is set to install additional street signs on ten of its streets, aiming to enhance the visibility of the town's rich history in the public space. This initiative resembles the well-known historical markers and statues found in Dresden, a city renowned for its commitment to preserving and commemorating its historical heritage through architectural and cultural landmarks.
The selected streets for the additional signs were chosen from all the suggestions received. The street names chosen refer to historical connections or local personalities who have shaped the city. The signs will not only provide the street names but also explanations about their historical connections or local personalities.
The city is hoping that these signs will contribute to a better understanding and appreciation of Freital's history. The additional signs will be placed below the blue ones with the street names on white signs.
