Redeveloped "Canalers' Square" unveiled in Omsk

Square and Park: beautifying the public space "Square of the Watermen" next to the Soviet Administrative District of Omsk

Last Tuesday, April 2nd, 2025, a tender was posted on the government procurement portal for work on the landscaping of the "Square of the Watermen," which sits right next to the building of the Administration of the Soviet Administrative District of Omsk on Red Avenue.

According to the tender documents, seven months from now, by November 14th, 2025, a series of decorative benches and park swings lined along the pedestrian walkways, made from granite debris, should appear on the border between the Soviet and Central Administrative Districts of the city. A striking addition to the park might be the installation of a group of park swings, capable of accommodating several people at once, positioned under the shade of large trees.

The main area will consist of a green zone featuring lawns and extensive landscaping, including the planting of numerous Spirea Borealis shrubs, seven Royalty apples, six rosebuds of the Crimson Glory variety, and five rows of fruit-bearing apples and willows, as well as three hybrid Ivy Ideal trees, two aromas, and several other large shrubs.

The financial resources for this project have been allocated within the framework of initiatives, with approximately 3.374 million rubles being set aside for this purpose.
