Pupils shift to refurbished Samsons School for the first time
The historic Samsonschule in Wolfenbüttel has undergone a comprehensive renovation and is set to open its doors on October 1, offering modern living spaces for students and trainees in the region.
Funded by the state of Lower Saxony, represented by the NBank, the renovation project has been enthusiastically welcomed by Markus Aignesberger from the FDS non-profit foundation. He sees this as a new chapter for the Samsonschule, which is located at Neuer Weg 50, opposite the Wolfenbüttel Clinic, and easily accessible by bike path to the Ostfalia Hochschule campus, as well as being well connected by bus to the city centers of Wolfenbüttel and Braunschweig, and to the training campuses in Wolfenbüttel and Salzgitter.
The Samsonschule boasts 155 modern living spaces, with 153 single apartments and one 2-person shared apartment. Anyone who provides a valid training certificate can live in the Samsonschule for the duration of their training or studies. Rents for apartments in the Samsonschule start at 360 euros and average 470 euros. All apartments are fully furnished, have a shower room, and a kitchenette.
The all-inclusive rent in the Samsonschule is intended to protect residents from additional costs. Fixed-term rental contracts of six or twelve months are available. The Samsonschule also offers common rooms, a paid laundry room, and bicycle parking spaces.
The renovated Samsonschule, with its affordable housing, is expected to attract interest from students and trainees in Brunswick, Salzgitter, and Wolfenbüttel, as well as from regional companies looking to support their trainees in finding accommodation. The Samsonschule's renovation is a significant contribution to improving the training situation in the region.
Line 421 to the Ostfalia campuses in Wolfenbüttel and Salzgitter also stops at the "Forstweg" bus stop, which is located in front of the Samsonschule. The regional bus stop offers connections to line 420, which goes to both the Wolfenbüttel train station, city center, and Brunswick city center.
As a listed building, the Samsonschule preserves its historical charm while offering modern amenities. The Samsonschule will only be rented to students and trainees, ensuring that it remains a hub for learning and development in the heart of Wolfenbüttel.
