In the heart of Düsseldorf, a call to action has been issued for community members to join the Clean Up Day on Saturday, March 25th. This annual event, while not yet officially confirmed on the city's website, has been a regular fixture in previous years, with the trash pile at the Diepenpark being significantly smaller after the clean-up activities.

For those interested in participating, checking local city websites or environmental organizations in Düsseldorf is recommended for announcements and registration details. These events typically involve meeting at designated locations to collect litter and maintain the cleanliness of public spaces. Registration, if required, can often be done online via municipal or organizer websites, requiring only your name and contact information.

For the latest and most accurate information, it is advisable to visit the Düsseldorf city official website or local environmental groups' pages closer to the event date.

In recent days, students from various schools in Düsseldorf have been actively participating in clean-up activities. On Tuesday afternoon, a group of children from the Grundschule at Adam-Stegerwald-Straße in Garath joined Mennekes for a clean-up activity in the Garath center. During their clean-up day, they found a variety of unusual items, including old Christmas trees, a hammer, a Barbie doll with only one leg, a butterfly-shaped cookie cutter, and an old carpet.

Similarly, the 5th grade of the Rudolf Steiner School cleaned up the playground at Diepenstraße, and around 35 children from the neighboring Rudolf Steiner School came to clean up the playground at Josef-Neuberger-Straße on Wednesday morning.

This Saturday, Düsseldorf residents are invited to join these efforts and contribute to a cleaner and greener city. Material distribution stations will be available at Staufenplatz and Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen (near Oberkasseler Bridge). Spontaneous participation is possible during the Clean Up Day at the Diepenpark, or registration can be done on the Pro Düsseldorf website.

Petra Sobotka, of the Spielplatzinitiative Diepenpark, has been ensuring that children can play well on the playground at Josef-Neuberger-Straße for over two decades. She is inviting all interested parties to continue tidying up around the Diepenpark playground on Saturday from 10 am.

The students expressed hope that future generations will approach adults who litter with more awareness. Ulrich Mennekes, who cares for the Open Extended Day Care at the Grundschule at Adam-Stegerwald-Straße in Garath, discussed the topic "Protection of our environment" with the 2nd grade OGS group.
