New Development Alert: Insights for the Community Regarding the Upcoming Residential Area on Schloßallee, Dusseldorf Eller

Public Information Regarding the Fresh Housing Development along Schloßallee in Dusseldorf Eller

In the heart of Düsseldorf, the designs for the much-anticipated Eller Living Park were unveiled in a community gathering. The four remaining architectural firms, whose identities remain undisclosed, presented their visions for the project, which aims to be a harmonious blend of ecology, economy, and society.

The site for the Eller Living Park is nestled behind the protected Schlosskirche, bounded by Schlossallee in the northeast and Heidelberg Street in the southwest. With an approximate area of 11,300 square meters, the park is set to transform this corner of the city into a vibrant and sustainable community space.

The designs vary in height, with buildings ranging from three to seven floors, and the gross floor area ranging between 9,000 and over 16,000 square meters. Despite the differences in scale, all designs prioritise the preservation of the trees deemed worth preserving and boast a green space of around 50%.

The competition for the Eller Living Park was initiated by a joint venture between the Evangelical Church Düsseldorf, the Mirjam Church Community, and the city. The Church Circle Düsseldorf will be the owner of the park and has committed to building 50% publicly subsidised housing. Kai Fischer, head of the city planning department, stated that the Church Circle prefers to keep the apartments in their own portfolio for a long time.

In a light-hearted moment, Pastor Kornelius Heering joked about the Eller Living Park announcement date being later than the Pope election date, alluding to the upcoming conclave in Rome, scheduled for May 7th.

The architects were not present at the event to prevent any potential copying of each other's work. The project managers expressed eagerness to hear the reactions to the designs presented. The architects have been tasked with incorporating the suggestions and criticism of the Eller residents into their detailed plans and are expected to submit a revised concept by June 13th at 2 pm.

Following the submission of the revised concepts, the preliminary review by the city offices will begin, and the jury will meet on June 30th to announce the winning design for the Eller Living Park. The city of Düsseldorf, as a partner in all construction projects, will issue the building permits for the Eller Living Park once the design has been finalised.

As the competition enters its final stages, the anticipation grows for the unveiling of the innovative and sustainable designs that will shape the future of the Eller Living Park. The city of Düsseldorf looks forward to welcoming this new addition to its community.
