Ongoing Improvement Projects Along Bugach Embankment in Krasnoyarsk
In 2025, the Railroad District of Krasnoyarsk continues large-scale improvements along Bugacha Riverbank. This new phase covers a stretch from house number 11 on Combaianostroiteley Street to Hill Street, number 5. According to the design project, this area will include a pedestrian path, a children's playground, modern lighting, park swings, benches, and the planting of trees and shrubs.
From 2018 to 2021, approximately 100 unauthorized structures, garages, and containers were demolished on the riverbank. This paved the way for future improvements. In 2024, the first phase of work on the Bugacha Riverbank was completed - it was beautified from house number 52 on Maerchak Street, building 1, to Hill Street, number 5.
For the first phase of the Bugacha Riverbank, 18,318 residents of Krasnoyarsk voted in 2023, and 21,030 residents voted for the second phase in 2024.
The project was actively discussed on two urban forums, where nearly 50 ideas for improvement were proposed. Architects took the unique characteristics of the area into account when developing the design plan, aiming to create a comfortable environment for all residents of the city.
"The development of riverbank areas of small rivers within the city is extremely important for everyone. Let me remind you that, before 2024, there had never been any improvement work done on the Bugacha Riverbank. Residents have been asking for this - especially after seeing the changes made to the Kacha Riverbank, which we also plan to extend towards the Railroad District," commented the head of the Railroad District administration, Evgeny Semkin.
Currently, the city government is holding a contest to select the contractor. The bidding will conclude by the end of March. With favorable weather conditions, work on improvements could begin as early as April. Initially, the area will be cleaned up, cleared of debris, and leveled.
We'd like to add that the improvements along the riverbank are part of the regional project "Forming a Comfortable Urban Environment" under the national project "Infrastructure for Living."
