San Luis Potosi is buzzing with excitement as it marks a significant period of transformation. On July 12th, 2025, the inauguration ceremonies for the new boards of directors of Rotaract San Luis Potosi, Rotary Club of San Luis Potosi, and Rotaract Tec de Monterrey Campus SLP took place, ushering in a new era of community service and philanthropy.

In the Rotaract Tec de Monterrey Campus SLP, Ana Laura Tenorio takes the helm as president, ready to steer the organisation towards even greater achievements. Meanwhile, Adán García assumes the presidency of Rotaract San Luis Potosí, continuing the organisation's tradition of running for good causes and supporting charitable initiatives.

The Rotary Club San Luis Potosí, under the leadership of Mário César Martins de Camargo, continues its commitment to community service. With a focus on improving local welfare and fostering philanthropy, the club is a shining example of Rotary's global mission.

Dr. José Andrés Azcárate Varela, a well-known Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, now presides over the Rotary Club of San Luis Potosi. His dedication to serving low-income children with cleft lip and palate in various states across Mexico is a testament to the club's altruistic spirit.

The city is also celebrating the first digital tourist expo, showcasing San Luis Potosi's rich culture and attractions to a global audience. Additionally, the announced air routes connecting San Luis Potosi to Cancun and Tijuana will further boost tourism and economic growth.

However, the city is not without its challenges. One hundred churches in bankruptcy due to a lack of alms is a sobering reminder of the struggles faced by many in the community. Sadly, the murders of Lilia Gema García Soto, mayor of San Mateo Piñas, Oaxaca, and Martha Mendoza, municipal president of Tepalcatepec, Michoacan, have raised questions about the safety and security of public officials in Mexico.

International media are also questioning the legitimacy of Mexico's judicial elections, adding to the concerns about the nation's political landscape. Despite these challenges, the spirit of Rotarians in San Luis Potosi remains optimistic about the future of their family in the city.
