Nearly 180 apartment buildings restored in Almaty city
Hey there! Let's chat about the sprucing up of Almaty since the advent of 2020. Over a whopping 180 residential complexes have gotten a facelift, thanks to the active implementation of the "New Almaty" plan. And it's not just cosmetic – entranceways and roofs have been fixed, old lifts swapped out for shiny new ones, and new engineering networks installed. Pretty impressive, huh?
Now, imagine living in a war-torn shack, with leaky roofs and cracked walls, like Inara Mazitova did on Seifullin Prospect. But hey, she heard about the "Nurly Zher" program and jumped on board, applying for the housing and utilities modernization component. Guess what? Her place got a damn nice makeover in just two months! She was thrilled with the workmanship, the assistance provided, and even had a say in the color palette and materials selection.
Pensioner Lydia Lisova, residing on Zhandosov Street, is another satisfied customer. Her place is now the prettiest in the neighborhood, and she's decked out in gratitude to the city authorities. The facelift included a good old scrub, new finishing work, a mesh on the entire front, and not one, but two fresh coats of white paint.
Under the "Nurly Zher's" modernization component, residents of tall buildings can get a loan for repairs without any extra fees. The cash can be used to update the facade, fix the roof, lay new engineering networks, replace those ageing lifts in the lobby, and more.
So far, 183 residential buildings have received theroyal treatment, with 300 lifts being replaced in 138 buildings, and work still ongoing in 46 buildings. Expect everything to be wrapped up by the end of October this year, says Kuanysh Seitov, head of the modernization department at TОО "Almaty Turgyn Uy".
Since "Nurly Zher" kicked off, a grand total of 1283 city high-rise buildings have been remodeled, with over half receiving a full-blown makeover, and the rest getting snazzy new lifts.
Now, as for the "Nurly Zher" program, it's a government initiative designed to boost housing and communal services in Kazakhstan, running from 2020 to 2025. While specifics on its current status in Almaty are a bit scarce, it's still in full swing, as evidenced by its mention in local and academic contexts. To find out exactly what's happening with "Nurly Zher" in Almaty, it's best to reach out to the local government or municipal authorities directly.
Engaging in a discussion about the transformation of Almaty's lifestyle, the home-improvement projects under the "Nurly Zher" program aremaking a remarkable impact. For instance, Inara Mazitova, a resident on Seifullin Prospect, took advantage of the housing modernization component and received a remarkable home-and-garden makeover, which significantly improved her living conditions. Similarly, Lydia Lisova, a pensioner residing on Zhandosov Street, also experienced a dramatic transformation of her home as part of the program. This initiative not only aims to modernize residential buildings but also facilitates loans for repairs, enabling residents to update facades, fix roofs, lay new engineering networks, and replace aging lifts, among other improvements. All these projects serve to enhance the overall quality of life for Almaty's residents.
