The Ibbenbüren City Library recently hosted a grand celebration, marking the conclusion of the summer Reading Club 2025 on 16th September. The event was filled with excitement and recognition, honouring the most creative ideas in various categories.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of "The Book of 1000 Secrets," a film created during the summer Reading Club workshop. Directed by Thomas Flechtner, the film was a testament to the creativity and teamwork that flourished during the project. You can watch the film here.
The award ceremony was not just about recognising artistic achievements. The film workshop was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of SchreibLand NRW, an initiative of the Literature Office NRW, supported by the Association of Libraries NRW.
The event also saw a special story award. The story, which was about the mayor and a theft in the town hall, added an exciting twist to the evening's proceedings. Meanwhile, Die Bücherwürmchen (Lou and Smilla Hoppe) won the award for the best animated film.
As the evening drew to a close, the city library team expressed their gratitude to all and looked forward to the next summer Reading Club next year. The celebration was a fitting tribute to the power of reading and the creative spirit that it inspires.
