Lee & Roaringwild Break Gender Barriers with First Unisex Collection
Lee, the iconic American denim brand, has broken gender barriers with its first entirely unisex apparel collection. Teaming up with China-based streetwear label Roaringwild, the collaboration brings a fresh blend of outdoor adventure and urban culture to the fashion scene.
Founded in 2010 by a group of college friends, Roaringwild aimed to fill the gap in the Chinese market for streetwear brands like Stussy, Palace, and Supreme. Now, it joins forces with Lee to create a capsule collection that reflects the growing consumer trend of mixing traditionally gendered fashions.
The Lee x Roaringwild collection, priced between $80 and $230 and available in sizes XS to XL, pays homage to the vibrant art and music scenes of the 1980s. It features graphic tees, denim jackets, and oversized jeans, marking Roaringwild's first collaboration with a denim brand. This move comes as Lee continues its streak of high-profile partnerships, having previously worked with Daydreamer, Bearbricks, Dragon Ball Z, and the Brooklyn Circus.
For Lee, this unisex collection signifies a significant step forward. The brand, owned by Kontoor Brands alongside Wrangler, has been making waves in the fashion world. Kontoor Brands reported $616 million in revenue for its second quarter, with Lee contributing a substantial $188 million. Meanwhile, Wrangler has also made headlines with its limited edition lines, collaborating with Staud, Sandro, and Barbie this year.
The Lee x Roaringwild collection is now available, offering consumers a unique blend of outdoor adventure and urban culture in an entirely unisex format. As consumers continue to embrace fluid fashion, this collaboration signals a promising direction for both brands in the ever-evolving denim and streetwear landscapes.
