Financial powerhouse Lazard has set up a swanky new digs in London's swanky Marylebone neighborhood. This grand move marks a significant expansion of the firm's presence in the city, establishing a third global headquarters alongside New York and Paris.

At ~~20 Manchester Square~~, Lazard's new office space stands tall, embodying the firm's values and future-forward vision. The CEO, Jeremy Taylor, remarks that this isn't just an office but a reflection of the company's ethos. The premises will host both its financial advisory and asset management businesses under one roof.

This strategic move reflects Lazard's ambition to strengthen its footing in Europe. Cyrus Kapadia, co-head of European Investment Banking, explains, "We're etching our mark deeper into Europe and the broader global market." The new headquarters was acquired back in 2022, securing a 15-year lease that commenced mid-2024.

Stepping Into a Greener Future

Lazard's decision to nestle in at 20 Manchester Square underscores the firm's unwavering commitment to the UK and its rich London roots. As Kapadia further elaborates, "Over the past couple of decades, we've been bolstering our European teams and networks to better serve our clients span-wide."

The office building shares a fence with the Wallace Collection and Regent's Park, boasting a prime London location. This site, however, is more than just a fancy address; it flaunts a commitment to sustainability. Green offices have been increasingly favored in prime London real estate, spurred by tightening environmental standards aiming for a cleaner, circular construction sector.

Lazard's new abode sports solar panels on the rooftop, a rainwater harvesting system, and adheres to the UK Green Building Council framework for net-zero carbon emissions. It deploys recycled, long-life materials with reduced replaceability, using eco-friendly taps, showers, and fixtures throughout.

London boasts other notable sustainable office builds, like the "70 Gracechurch Street skyscraper" and the Bankside wellness hub, which also strive for a cleaner, greener urban landscape.

As Lazard makes a grand entrance to its new home at 20 Manchester Square, it departs from its previous location at 50 Stratton Street, where it had made a home for over 20 years. Becoming part of London's burgeoning sustainable office revolution, the firm proudly takes a step towards a cleaner, greener future.
