Consultancy Business Expansion: KAMI e.V. Establishes Second Office in Harburg after First Successful Year

KAMI e.V. establishes a new branch in Harburg after a year of success in consulting.

In the heart of Harburg City, a new chapter begins as a second location for KAMI e.V. opens its doors at Harburger Ring 21. This follows the success of the original KAMI e.V. location, situated at New Street 23.

The new premises will offer additional open consultation hours, with three to four languages available on Tuesdays to Thursdays. This expansion aims to cater better to the diverse community of families from Harburg and Süderelbe who are the primary target group for KAMI e.V.'s services.

The WANITA project, an inter-cultural centre for women, will also be housed in the new premises at Harburger Ring 21. This project, a first of its kind, was made possible with the support and financial participation of the Social Space Management from the Harburg District Office and the Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg), who developed the financing concept.

WANITA aims to implement the district's guiding principle of living together in diversity and open up gender equality. It offers courses such as language courses, career orientation, and a women's café. The WANITA premises will not be accessible to men, creating a safe and inclusive space for women.

Last year, a total of 809 consultations were provided at the KAMI e.V. locations, with assistance offered for filling out forms such as job centre forms, kindergarten registration, or parental benefit application. In 2023, a total of 284 families from Harburg, Eißendorf, and Heimfeld were supported and accompanied by the Neighborhood Parents offer.

The Senior Network, a service for the elderly, continues to operate in the barrier-free premises at New Street 23. Demi Akpinar, who stated the information in an interview, emphasised the importance of these services in fostering a supportive and inclusive community.

The funding for WANITA amounts to €77,000 per year and runs until December 31, 2026. As these new facilities continue to grow and evolve, they promise to provide valuable resources and support for families and women in the Harburg community.
