Join Youth Book Award Ceremony on Sept 25, Landshut
Join us on Thursday, September 25, at 6:30 PM in the City Library on Weilerstraße for the annual Picked Out Youth Book Award ceremony. The event, patronised by Mayor Alexander Putz, aims to inspire young readers and promote literature across Landshut.
The top three youth books from 2024, chosen by the Youth Reading Club and local students, will be presented by the young readers themselves. The winning titles were selected from a pool of eligible books published in 2024. This year's ceremony marks the 14th edition of the award, which began in 2009. Following the presentation, a champagne reception will be held for attendees.
The Youth Reading Club, which was part of the German Youth Literature Prize jury from 2003 to 2008 and again since 2023, plays a crucial role in selecting the winning books. The award seeks to give young people access to literature and foster a love for reading on a broad scale.
The award ceremony is open to students and interested individuals. Due to limited seating, RSVP is required via the media portal or phone. The winning books from 2024 will be announced, and the three youth books from 2025 that won the award remain a mystery, as no information is currently available.
