Innovative 'Energy-Efficiency Design' Exhibition Opens in Landshut
An innovative exhibition, 'Energy-Efficiency Design', opens this Friday, April 4th, at 6 pm in Landshut Town Hall. The show, presented by students from Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, explores the transformation of a historic prison into modern social housing. The former prison, under heritage protection since 2012, is centrally located in Landshut's historic city center.
The exhibition aims to serve as a blueprint for other vacant historic prisons in Bavaria. It showcases historically sensitive renovation plans, flexible apartment layouts, and innovative energy concepts. The project aims to develop a climate-neutral and social housing project from the 1906/07-built and 2008-vacant courthouse prison.
The exhibition can be visited in Landshut Town Hall from Saturday, April 5th. Opening hours are Saturday, April 5th, 12-6 pm, Sunday, April 6th, 2-6 pm, Thursday, April 10th and Friday, April 11th, each from 2-6 pm, Saturday, April 12th, 12-6 pm, and Sunday, April 13th, 2-6 pm. Admission is free.
The exhibition, 'Energy-Efficiency Design', demonstrates how to transform a historic building into modern social housing while preserving its historic value and with an energy-efficient concept. It provides impetus for a possible future use of the historic building and connects the site to the city community through public areas and communal spaces.
