Discovered among my preferred choices was the Vertical Garden initiative, a versatile trellis planter suitable for installation on walls or fences in our compact townhouse garden. Surprisingly enough, this project has been assigned to me.

Let's get Vertical 🎉

Important Choice of Venue for Vertical Garden Initiative!

Alright, folks! Guess what? I'm bloody thrilled to announce I've landed a gardening series gig with the mighty The Home Depot! And, lemme tell ya, their lineup of projects is fucking awesome! Me being me, I picked a few that I couldn't resist.

One of the projects that caught my eye is the Vertical Garden - a sleek trellis-based planter that will slot perfectly along a wall or on a fence in our wee townhouse backyard. And yes, you guessed it - it's the one I'm working on!

If you think a project's over my head, you'd be wrong. I'm no diva when it comes to putting things together, and I ain't too proud to follow the step-by-step instructions. Plus, I ain't afraid to enlist my handy-man husband for backup.

The awesome thing about The Home Depot? Their website is chock-full of helpful stuff, like garden hints, a Community Forum, and even a helpful video library explaining just about any project under the sun – including the Vertical Garden build.

With their library of how-to videos, project planning tools, and regularly updated gardening articles, it's as easy as pie to turn thoughts into actions. No more excuses – it's time to get tactical!

Next up: deciding where to hang the finished product.

My plan’s to get some herbs in there alongside the flowers, so I've got fresh herbs at my fingertips whenever I'm cooking - there's nothing like it, mate! But being realistic and accepting my chaotic lifestyle, I need to ensure this bad boy's no further than a stone's throw from my back door off the kitchen.

Otherwise, maintaining it might go down the crapper by July, and I'll swear I've got a black thumb – not exactly green, let me tell ya!

Here are the spots I'm mulling over:

Option 1: Hang the vertical garden on the brick wall at the back of our house

Option 2: Hang the vertical garden on the fence in our backyard

Option 3: Hang the vertical garden horizontally along our deck rails

There's another reason I'm excited to be working on a project that involves getting the garden up off the ground, especially a garden with edibles.

Wanna know who loves to mark his territory on anything outside? This little fella here is always just within arm's reach (you catch my drift):

So, where should I hang my vertical garden, y'ask?

Incorporating my newfound love for gardening, I've decided to grow herbs in my vertical garden for easy access while cooking, making it a perfect addition to my home-and-garden lifestyle. Among the three spots I'm considering for the vertical garden - the brick wall at the back of our house, the fence in our backyard, or horizontally along our deck rails - I must choose one that allows for easy maintenance as a part of my busy lifestyle.
