IMF Mountain Film Festival's Third Installment Happens on February 9th and 10th
The third edition of the IMF Mountain Film Festival is set to take place in New Delhi, India, from February 9 to 11. The event, hosted by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, will feature screenings of more than 35 short films (averaging 4-5 minutes) shot in India, showcasing various adventure disciplines such as mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, ice climbing, snowboarding, trekking, white water rafting, and kayaking.
Screenings 3 and 4 of the festival will take place on February 11, at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation's venue. These screenings are part of the competitive event for adventure films shot in India or the Indian Himalaya, with the Grand Prize for the winners being Rs. 50,000 and a Supplementary award of Rs. 25,000.
The festival will also feature additional short films in Screenings 3 and 4, providing a diverse range of perspectives on adventure sports in India. Movies that have already received cash awards or a certificate of recognition are not eligible to win again in these screenings.
The festival's focus on mountaineering, environment, adventure sports, and short-form storytelling is reflected in the following award categories:
- Best Film on Mountaineering: Rs. 1,50,000 - Best Film on Environment and Ecology: Rs. 1,00,000 - Best Film on Adventure and Sports: Rs. 75,000 - Best Short Film: Rs. 50,000
Filmmakers participating in Screenings 3 and 4 have the opportunity to receive recognition and cash prizes, with movies which receive cash awards or a certificate of recognition being eligible to be a part of India Tour and made available in a 2-hour capsule to various organizations for exhibition.
The festival timing for Saturday, February 9, is from 10.30 AM to 5.30 PM (Screening 1) and 6 PM to 8 PM (Screening 2). Screenings 3 and 4 will take place on Sunday, February 10, from 10.30 AM to 5.30 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM, respectively.
