Harburg's Diversity Celebration: Festival Revives in the Town Hall Plaza on Saturday
On Saturday, July 6th, the Harburg Town Hall Square will once again come alive as the annual "Harburg Celebrates Diversity" festival returns. This free event, which was originally celebrated on the town hall square from 2016, is now part of "Summer in the Park" at the open-air stage in the city park.
The festival will run from 12 pm to 5 pm, offering a diverse stage program featuring music, dance, and poetry. The award ceremony for the SiKo Award, an annual honour given for exceptional personal commitment in the areas of safety and cleanliness in the Harburg district, will take place on the festival stage around 12.45 pm.
Adults can look forward to information, advice, and entertainment, while younger visitors can enjoy activities tailored to their age groups. Face painting and a stamp rally are among the activities planned for children, ensuring a fun-filled day for all.
Food and drinks, including sausages, waffles, coffee/tea, and cake, will be available for a donation at the festival. In an effort to promote sustainability, those who bring their own water bottle can save the cup deposit at the festival. Free drinking water will also be provided due to the expected summer temperatures.
While information about the nominees for the 2022 SiKo Award was not available at the time of writing, the award is a highly respected regional honour in Harburg. The SiKo Award, worth 1000 euros, is presented annually to recognise outstanding personal commitment in the areas of safety and cleanliness.
Approximately 40 initiatives, associations, and institutions will present their offers on the town hall square, offering visitors a chance to learn more about the local community and its various organisations.
For those interested in learning more about the SiKo Award and its nominees, local Harburg government or event websites, press releases, or contacting local organisations associated with the award directly may provide further information.
