Great Plains Unveils Luxury Villas at Mpala Jena Near Victoria Falls
Great Plains has launched the first of two new exclusive-use villas at Mpala Jena, near Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The villas, designed in the Puglia style, offer a private open safari-drive vehicle, motorised boat, and a historic dhow for sunset or sunrise cruises. Each two-night stay includes airport transfers, a guided tour of Victoria Falls, and access to a private river pavilion.
The villas, designed by Kevin and Shannon Lang in collaboration with architect Julia Rotherford and interior designer Tracy Kelly, maintain the charm of the original Mpala Jena camp. They sleep up to six adults or four adults and three children in three luxurious riverfront suites. Each villa features a private main area, swimming pool, and private butler and guide services.
Interior designer Tracy Kelly used an earthy and soothing color palette with natural materials, creating a rustic and authentic feel. The villas are designed for year-round comfort, with steep thatch roofs and smooth arches. Guests have access to a private open safari-drive vehicle and motorised boat, with activities tailored to their needs. The second villa is set to open in November, both located five kilometers upstream from the main property.
