Four exceptional, sought-after Aston Martins from recent years get auctioned off
Four Rare Aston Martins Up for Auction in Collecting Cars' "Silver Bullets" Part II
Collecting Cars is hosting an auction for four of the world's rarest Aston Martins, each with its unique story and history. The auction, titled "Silver Bullets" Part II, starts on Sunday, 22nd June, and lasts for seven days.
The collection includes a 1985 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, one of only two Vantage models used for developing the modifications for the final production series of the V8 Vantage 'X-Pack'. This particular Aston Martin was originally a demonstrator to Aston Martin main agents Stratton, later used by the factory, and purchased back by the company. It comes complete with many of its original accessories, including a numbered car cover and two umbrellas.
Another car in the collection is a 2004 DB AR1, created in partnership with Zagato and built for the American market. Unlike other Aston Martins, the DB AR1 was never fitted with a roof, making it the most "unapologetically sunshine-focused car" Aston Martin has ever built.
The 2006 Vanquish S, one of the last truly hand-built Aston Martins, is another highlight of the collection. It has undergone a full manual gearbox conversion by Aston Martin Works and is refinished in Skyfall Silver. The interior is trimmed in deep-soft Obsidian Black leather, a black One-77 steering wheel with silver stitch, and carbon fibre accents throughout.
The Vanquish Centenary Edition, number 82 of 100 planned to celebrate Aston Martin's 100th anniversary, though only 85 are believed to have been built, is another rare gem in the collection. This model features a unique 'graduated' two-tone paint finish requiring 18 hours of craftsmanship. The interior is equally impressive, with a black One-77 steering wheel, carbon fibre accents, and a black and silver colour scheme.
The final Aston Martin in the collection is a 2004 DB AR1, finished in a stunning silver colour, which is in excellent condition after more than £25,000 of work by Aston Martin specialist RS Williams.
"Each of the four Aston Martins has a unique story," says Edward Lovett, Founder of Collecting Cars. "Nothing says 'Aston Martin' quite like silver," he adds, as all the cars in the collection are finished in various shades of silver.
The auction is a must-see for any Aston Martin enthusiast and a great opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. So, if you're in the market for a rare and exclusive Aston Martin, be sure to check out Collecting Cars' "Silver Bullets" Part II auction starting on Sunday, 22nd June.
