FIDIC and Solar Impulse Foundation Team Up to Drive Sustainable Engineering
FIDIC, the global federation of consulting engineers, and the Solar Impulse Foundation (SIF) have joined forces to promote sustainable practices in engineering, construction, and infrastructure. Led by President Roland Staiger and Founder Bertrand Piccard respectively, the two organisations have signed a strategic MoU to collaborate on innovative, environmentally friendly solutions.
The three-year cooperation will see FIDIC and SIF work together on various initiatives. These include training programs to upskill professionals, advocacy efforts to promote sustainable practices, and the development of standards and best practices. The organisations will also collaborate on projects, aiming to make a tangible impact on the ground.
FIDIC CEO Dr Nelson Ogunshakin expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He noted FIDIC's commitment to sustainability and the urgent need to address climate change challenges. With over one million engineering professionals and 40,000 firms in 100 countries, FIDIC contributes significantly to global GDP, making its influence in driving sustainability substantial.
The MoU, signed by FIDIC and the Solar Impulse Foundation, signals a significant step towards a more sustainable future in engineering and construction. With their combined expertise and reach, the two organisations aim to accelerate the adoption of clean technologies and practices, ultimately reducing the industry's environmental footprint.
