Festivities commence at Thai Summer Festival, featuring delectable street eats
The vibrant and culturally rich Thai Summer Festival is set to return to Oberhausen on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Zentrum Altenberg. This event, organised by "BKK Event", promises an unforgettable experience celebrating Thai culture and festivities.
The festival will be held at the Hansastraße near Oberhausen Central Station, offering visitors the opportunity to browse, watch, and listen to a variety of Thai performances. The event will feature colourful traditional attire, singers performing both Thai and German songs, and Thai boxers in Muay Thai performances.
The Thai Summer Festival is not a new addition to Oberhausen. In fact, the Asian community previously celebrated the Songkran New Year festival there, and the event was previously held at old industrial halls in the city. The festival was also promoted in the past with the help of singer Thomas Sundara.
This year's festival will offer local cuisine and an extensive entertainment program from 10 am to 8 pm, with the event not charging an admission fee. However, specific details about the lineup of performers and the detailed schedule are not yet available.
For those interested in Thai culture, it is recommended to mark their calendars for this event. The Thai Dance will also be performed at the festival, and several DJs are expected to take the stage.
Please note that due to an adjacent construction site at the Rheinisches Industriemuseum (RIM), the Thai Summer Festival will not be held in its entirety at the Zentrum Altenberg.
For the most up-to-date information on performers, the program, and any schedule changes, we recommend checking the official event page or social media closer to the event date.
