Exploring the Puppet Theatre
The puppet theater 'Mottenkäfig' is celebrating its 50th anniversary on Sunday, January 7, 2018, and to mark the occasion, a special event is being organised. The event, a 'combo package', includes a guided tour of a special exhibition at the Pforzheim City Museum and a performance of the children's play 'The Little Kangaroo Learns to Fly'.
The guided tour, offered by the 'Mottenkäfig' ensemble, provides insights into the history of 'Mottenkäfig', its puppets, and the selection of plays over the past 50 years. Participants will have the chance to try puppetry on a stage during the guided tour, and a multi-visual show tells the story of the theater's beginnings, revealing hidden insights into the creation of the stage.
The idea to found the puppet theater 'Mottenkäfig' was conceived by Bernd Geiling, and the discovery tour is a part of 'Mottenkäfig's' 50th birthday celebrations. The tour begins at 3:00 PM in the foyer of the Pforzheim City Museum. After the show, speakers and performers will answer questions and offer exclusive backstage views and a peek into the workshops of the puppet theater.
A valid entrance ticket is required to participate in the discovery tour, and tickets can be purchased on-site at the city museum, the ticket office, online at mottenkaefig.de, or at any Reservix advance sales outlets. The price of the discovery tour is 6 euros.
