On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Tourist Information (Tourist-Information) of Neuwied is offering two captivating tours that delve into the city's history and an influential figure, Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen.

For those interested in a leisurely walk through Neuwied's Old Town, registration is not required. The tour begins at Neuwied Castle and highlights key events in the city's history. Notable landmarks on this tour include the Market Church, the Schärjer monument, and the Herrnhuter Quarter.

For those eager to delve deeper into Raiffeisen's life and work, registration for the Raiffeisen city tour is mandatory and can be done before October 3 by phone, email, or in person. This one-and-a-half-hour walk will start at the Raiffeisen monument at 2 PM. The tour will provide an opportunity for people to walk in Raiffeisen's footsteps in Heddesdorf, visiting the former mayor's office, Raiffeisen family home, Raiffeisen printing house, and Raiffeisen's grave in Heddesdorf.

The participation fee for both tours is 6 euros for adults and 4 euros for children aged 6 to 14. Children under 6 can participate in both tours for free.
