In the heart of Tokyo's bustling Ginza shopping district, a unique urban oasis has emerged. Known as the Ginza Sony Park, this innovative space opened its doors in January 2025, offering a fresh blend of entertainment, culture, and technology.

Spanning over 4,000 square meters and consisting of eight levels, three of which are below ground, the Ginza Sony Park is a concrete, brutalist architecture structure that stands out amidst the district's traditional buildings.

The park's creator, Daisuke Nagano, views it as an open space that offers freedom to use in various ways, comparing it to a smartphone with the building being the platform and the activities being like apps.

Approximately 40% of the park's space is free, open space, while the remaining 60% is divided into sections for exhibitions or events. These sections are home to a series of exhibitions showcasing Sony's involvement in various businesses, including music, gaming, cinema, entertainment technology, finance, and semiconductors.

One of the park's most intriguing exhibits is the haptic floor tiles simulating the feeling of walking on water. Visitors can also expect to find a mini Sony Park displaying tech exhibits and limited-edition merchandise, as well as spaces for music and art-focused activities.

The ground floor of the park is almost completely empty and flexible, providing a versatile space for a variety of events. The restaurant is located on the lowest floor, offering visitors a chance to refuel amidst their cultural and entertainment experiences.

The Ginza Sony Park is attracting a large number of visitors, with approximately 12,000 visitors per day to the current exhibition. Its location, being one of the most iconic in Tokyo, offers an opportunity for short-term leasing, which could be beneficial for potential collaborators.

Nagano aims to attract outside collaborators to the Ginza Sony Park, making it a platform for various activities and events. The park's proximity to Ginza Station and Yurakucho Station also makes it easily accessible for visitors exploring the Ginza district.

In addition to the numerous exhibits and events, the Ginza Sony Park also includes a café and lounge, providing visitors space to relax and enjoy a coffee or a bento while taking in the sights and sounds of this innovative urban space.
