In exciting news for families and outdoor enthusiasts in Freital, Germany, Burgk Castle is set to undergo a significant transformation. The city has announced plans to create a new barrier-free loop trail and expand the on-site adventure playground, "Burgkania".

The new 2.6-kilometer-long adventure trail, named "The Search for Black Gold", will be part of the castle grounds and will feature new information boards, a wildflower meadow, and seating areas. The trail is scheduled to begin construction on October 5th and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

During the construction period, the playground at Burgk Castle will be closed. However, the existing play equipment at the "Burgkania" playground will be refurbished as part of the project.
