Exhibition highlights the filthiest, most rundown PCs in Germany - 400 gripping photos of intriguing desolation for PC enthusiasts
Take a Peek at the Dirtiest PCs Ever: A Gallery of 'Fluffy Balls of Horror'
Cut through the grime and get a glimpse of some of the most astonishingly dirty PCs you'll ever lay your eyes on, as showcased by the esteemed German magazine, PCGH.de. This gallery, stocked with approximately 400 images, features PCs that have been heavily coated with dust, pet hair, and even traces of heavy smoking – a true sight for sore eyes (or should we say, a scare)!
The images over at PCGH.de come with a friendly reminder. "Note: Many of the horribly dusty computers were not owned by community members but were given to them for troubleshooting, upgrades, or cleaning, before being photographed," the magazine clarifies.
You can find some dusty nostalgia playing around in the PCGH.de user forum thread, which has been growing since 2012 - all the way back when a guest poster first displayed a be quiet! CPU cooler covered head-to-toe in dust. Rekindle those memories of old-school PC hardware like the old Gainward graphics card, the Asus Maximus III Formula-based system owned by a heavy smoker, and even a dust-covered Abit Fatality FP-IN9 SLI system.
Laptops, sadly, aren't as well represented in this gallery – but take it from this writer's experience, laptops tend to accumulate an excessive amount of dust due to users frequently placing them on soft furnishings and their relatively compact cooling systems. Last year, we covered another blatantly grimy PC system from North Carolina, but the poor computer's fate wasn't due to neglect – instead, it was devastated by Hurricane Helene[2]. Even a powerful electric duster like the Wolfbox MF100, currently on a 40% discount at Amazon[3], might find it challenging to make a meaningful difference in such extreme cases.
So, readers, dive into the gallery and share some of your own 'fluffy balls of horror' (yes, we're talking about PCs, not Taylor Swift's latest pet cat video)! We'd love to see the dusty revelations lurking in your garages and basements.
