Encounters with Buddie and the small, blue-hued elephant
Get ready for an exciting autumn as your local libraries are brimming with a variety of activities!
Starting September 1st, the 'Coding with the Elephant' app will be available at the Central Library, and from September 25th, it will also be offered at Barmen Library. This project, named 'Programming with the Elephant', is a collaboration between WDR, the Specialist Office for Public Libraries in NRW, and the Regierungsbezirk Düsseldorf. Participation in 'Coding with the Elephant' is free, but prior registration is required.
During the autumn holidays, additional sessions of 'Coding with the Elephant' will be held at all local libraries. But that's not all! There's a chance to meet library dog Buddie, race robots, and play games. For the younger ones, aged 2 to 5, there's the Story Train. Children can play with a wooden train set, listen to stories, create their own, and continue them on the Story Train.
The Story Train will stop at each library during the holidays. Children can also participate in a drive-in cinema experience at the library, featuring Bobby cars or balance bikes. For those with a creative flair, there's an opportunity to build with Lego, create collage pictures, or craft other items.
The program brochure for all autumn holiday activities is available for download. Prior registration for some activities is required and can be done at the libraries, by email, or phone. Don't miss out on this fun-filled autumn at your local libraries!
