Family Easter Celebrations Filled With Gardening, Dyeing Eggs, and Journaling

The family recently welcomed the return of their daughters, who had been away in Utah for three weeks. Lori went to Charlotte for Easter and helped the family plant their garden and partake in Easter celebrations.

After two days with Lori, the family picked up their daughters from the airport. One daughter, Kaitlyn, celebrated her birthday in Utah with family. Upon returning home, they organized a smaller celebration for her birthday, with her present, silkies, expected in a few weeks. A fan had sent them a video of dragons, which Kaitlyn received as an early birthday gift.

Garden Planting

The family received over 300 seed packets from a fan and spent time planting them with Lori's assistance. They hope many will germinate successfully.

Hard-Boiled and Dyed Eggs

In preparation for Easter, the family collected duck eggs over the past week and hard-boiled them for dyeing. Unfortunately, the hen eggs were too brown for dyeing.

Easter Sunday Activities

Before attending church services, the children received Easter treats hidden around the living room. After church, they enjoyed an easy Easter dinner consisting of egg salad sandwiches. Post-meal, they recorded their thoughts and reflections in their journals as they do every Sunday. It was a moving day honoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The family partook in traditional Easter activities like dyeing eggs, planting a garden, and journaling after church, emphasizing the spiritual and festive aspects of Easter.

The family spent time with Lori, successfully planting a variety of seeds from the 300 seed packets they received, hoping for a bountiful home-and-garden season. After dyeing the hard-boiled duck eggs collected over the past week, they shared thoughts on relationships and the spiritual significance of Easter, reflecting on the life-and-lifestyle aspects of the celebrations.
