Grenzenlos Summer Festival Brings Community Together in Düsseldorf

Last Saturday, the heart of Düsseldorf pulsed with culture and camaraderie as Grenzenlos, a prominent cultural and educational association, held its annual summer festival. Located at Kronprinzenstraße 113, the festivities transformed the street into a vibrant open-air festival area.

Grenzenlos, which translates to "without borders," has been committed to combating economic hardship, promoting social and cultural participation, and fostering international understanding since 1998. The association offers a variety of events, workshops, and courses aimed at fostering cross-cultural exchange and raising awareness about global and social issues.

The festival was a celebration of this mission, with live music provided by the Green-Horns Brass Band, Rustie Horse, and the Bluesbären. The association also offered catering, including freshly grilled food, coffee, cake, and waffles. Proceeds from the menu went directly to the association grenzenlos e.V.

The tenants' association had an information stand at the festival, with Claus Nesemann and Jochem Witzke present to answer any questions and provide information about Grenzenlos's activities.

In addition to food and music, the festival offered a range of activities for children, such as jumping on a bouncy castle, getting their faces painted, crafting, and spinning the wheel of fortune. The ASB operated the wheel of fortune, with many festival-goers supporting it through donations.

Grenzenlos is mainly financed through donations, and the proceeds from the festival are a significant contribution to its ongoing work. The association is open for guests from 8 am to 2:30 pm, with breakfast served from 8 am to 10:30 am and lunch from 11:30 am to 2 pm. A meal, social contacts, counseling, and cultural offers at Grenzenlos cost 3 euros for members and 6 euros for non-members.

For more information about Grenzenlos, its daily menu, and upcoming events, visit their website at [https://www.grenzenlos-duesseldorf.de/]. The association continues to play a vital role in promoting diversity, social cohesion, and cross-cultural exchange in the Düsseldorf region.

Festival-goers were enticed by the tantalizing aroma of freshly grilled food as they wandered through the open-air festival area, little realizing it was part of a home-and-garden experience organized by Grenzenlos. As the day wore on, attendees found themselves immersed in a lifestyle that celebrated diversity, social cohesion, and global understanding, all while supporting the association through their culinary adventures.
