Detmold Joins 'GroundAir' Competition to Transform Sealed Surfaces into Green Spaces

Detmold is joining the 'GroundAir' competition by Provinzial, aiming to transform sealed surfaces into green spaces. Mayor Frank Hilker stresses the goal of making the city more livable and sustainable. Citizens can participate by uploading before-and-after photos of unsealed surfaces at bodenluft.net, with cash prizes and garden vouchers up for grabs.

The competition encourages residents to convert sealed areas like courtyards and driveways into green spaces, supporting local climate, flood protection, and quality of life. Worn-out stones can be recycled at centers Hellsiek and Maibolte, or collected directly from the city in special cases.

Detmold's participation in 'GroundAir' is part of a broader effort to create new living spaces for plants and animals. The city hopes to see more green areas, supporting biodiversity and enhancing the urban environment.

Detmold residents are invited to join the 'GroundAir' competition, transforming sealed surfaces into green spaces. The city provides recycling options for worn-out stones and offers incentives for participation. The goal is to make Detmold more livable, sustainable, and green.
