Rockin' through the Rain: Festival-Frenzy's Wet and Wild Weekend, Part Deux
Second day of the event: showers at Rock im Park, overcast at the Ring - Day two of the Festival: Rain at Rock in the Park, overcast skies at the stage
Get ready to don your wellies and raincoats, my friends! The second day of Rock in Park and Rock am Ring proved nothing short of a soggy spectacle. Nuremberg's Rock in Park started off with a deluge, while the Eifel's Rock am Ring was initially dry but windy and cloudy.
Kicking off the day at Rock in Park, the US rock band Dead Poet Society warmed up the crowd. The day continued to heat up with bands like Beatsteaks and the US metal formation Korn set to blast some tunes and light up the faces of music enthusiasts. Over at Rock am Ring, Nothing More was the first act on the main stage, with Slipknot and Rise Against slated for a thunderous evening.
As we celebrate Rock in Park's 30th birthday, it's holding court with about 90,000 fans and a whopping 100 acts until Sunday, making this the grandest party it's ever thrown. Simultaneously, Rock am Ring, celebrating its 40th edition, is going down in the Eifel, sharing the same acts, but with a time-shifting twist.

The Commission, in light of the challenging weather conditions experienced at Rock in Park and Rock am Ring, has been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation during festivals. As a precaution, music enthusiasts are advised to pack rain gear for day three of the festivals.
