Party Time in Ludwigslust: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Day 2027

- Day Two Events of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 2027 in Ludwigslust

Bustling the States:

Next up on the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern party circuit is none other than the charming city of Ludwigslust in 2027. A sit-down between state, district, and city officials has already taken place, and Mayor Stefan Pinnow (independent) has spilled the beans.

Politics and Partying:

The excellent news was met with approval by Manuela Schwesig (SPD), the Minister-President. "Ludwigslust, this lovely little burg, has grown wings," she cheered. "We, the state, are forking over dough to refurbish the castle, the city's marquee attraction."

Small But Mighty Ludwigslust:

This humble town of just 12,000 residents isn't shying away from such a mammoth event. They've been to this rodeo before, having hosted the state festival in 2006.

Party Animals:

The MV Days sees tens of thousands of visitors descending upon the scene. No sweat for tiny Ludwigslust - they've handled crowds as big as 18,000 at the Schlosspark during Kleine Fest im großen Park, an annual festival organized by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern festival. Miss the autumn festivities at Schlossplatz, and you'll be kicking yourself!

Birthday Blowout:

In 2026, Ludwigslust turns 150 years old, and they plan to commemorate the occasion in style. Expect the west wing and the Golden Hall of the castle to be reopened after a comprehensive facelift, making the 18th-century grand building accessible in all its glory.

Historic hamlet:

Ludwigslust boasts a well-preserved Baroque city layout, and the castle is just one piece of the puzzle.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Day: A Quick Glance

Not to be confused with the wild nights in Greifswald, the MV Days have a rich history. The first fest was held in Mühlengeez in 2000, and the 16th MV Day in Ludwigslust in 2027 will keep the tradition going strong.

Greifswald: The Party Capital

The 775-year-old university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald is the current party host, with a "Tradition, Innovation, Diversity" theme keeping things lively from June 20 to 22. Apart from the usual MV Days shindigs, the city will also host the Bach Week and Fête de la Musique, with the state sports games thrown in for good measure.

Enlightenment:

Ludwigslust's status as the capital of the Duchy (later Grand Duchy) of Mecklenburg-Schwerin between 1765 and 1837 saw it serve as the lavish home of the dukes. Its architecture and expansive gardens remain a significant attraction, reflecting the region's royal and cultural heritage.
