Bomdia Brasserie, a new café-restaurant hybrid in Mumbai's Matunga neighborhood, has opened its doors, offering a unique dining experience that unfolds like a story. Designed by Studio RCI, this establishment spans a generous 2,000 sq ft but feels like a small, intimate hideaway.

The ground floor of Bomdia Brasserie houses a modern-day café area with a light, calm, almost coastal mood. Key elements include curved quartz and wooden tables, creating a sculptural yet organic feel. Central to the ambience are totemic amber-glowing lamps by Harshita Jhamtani Designs, paired with cane, cloth, and clay fixtures that enhance a tactile warmth. The floor, walls, and ceiling feature custom laser-cut tile patterns that create rhythmic visual ties throughout the space, contributing to a cozy, inviting atmosphere akin to a "warm hug" in design form.

The café area offers a broad, approachable spread of coffees, teas, fresh juices, milkshakes, smoothies, baked goods, and light bites.

Moving upstairs, the atmosphere transitions to a more atmospheric fine dining space with a moodier palette of terracotta, ink blue, and smoked neutrals. The lighting is characterized by a sprawling sculptural cane fixture and laser-cut tile motif in bolder wave patterns and more saturated tones. The addition of sliding doors creates privacy pockets for a more intimate dining experience.

The upstairs menu widens to include continental staples, Eastern and Southern Asian touches such as pizzas, salads, sandwiches, soups, dim sum, sushi, and sizzlers. Comfort food with a global accent is the order of the day here.

Bomdia Brasserie blends tactile natural materials and sophisticated lighting to create two harmoniously distinct experiences under one roof—casual and coastal downstairs, refined and moody upstairs—drawing inspiration from modern French cafés. The brasserie is located at Kalpataru Matru Ashish, 40019, Bhaudaji Rd, Matunga East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400019, India.
