In Tomsk, over 200,000 square meters of housing was handed over for use in the year 2024. This figure marks a new record high in housing delivery for the past six years, as stated by Mayor Dmitriy Mahiny on Tuesday during his report on the city administration's activities last year.

Construction of residential properties in Tomsk in 2024 will set new records over the past six years.

In a town-hall style address, Tomsk's mayor, Dmitriy Mahinya, revealed that an astounding 200,000 square meters of housing were brought into use in 2024, setting a record for the city in the last six years. He shared this during his annual report on the city administration's performance in the past year, addressing the city's concerns over housing growth.

Previously, it was noted that the authorities have been grappling with the volume of new housing for years. For instance, in 2021, just five multi-unit buildings were constructed in Tomsk, with a staggering 99,000 square meters out of the 153,800 square meters being individual housing. In 2022, the volume amounted to 120,000 square meters, and in 2023 it reached 195,000 square meters.

"An unprecedented 200,000 square meters of housing were brought into use in Tomsk in 2024." Mahinya stated, "This is the highest figure since 2018, when 221,400 square meters were brought into use."

Mahinya also shared that two more KRT projects will be implemented in Tomsky: one on Voďnoi Street and another on Aėrodromnoi Street. He emphasized the importance of comprehensive territory development. Among other things, back in the beginning of the previous year, a series of bids and contracts with investors were held on an Irtutsky Highway plot and Urožajny Lane in Čeremošniki. Furthermore, a decision was made for KRT on Voďnoi Street. As of now, there are 11 KRT projects ongoing in Tomsk.

The regional law on KRT was passed by the authorities at the end of 2021. This legislation focuses on the development of territories with unsafe buildings and available, undeveloped plots. The investor responsible for the project must develop and obtain approval for a construction plan, which must include specific multi-story homes, social amenities, and infrastructure.

Regarding the specifics of the KRT projects on Voďnoi and Aėrodromnoi Streets, further research is needed to gather accurate information. It's advisable to check local news sources or official city announcements for the most detailed and up-to-date insights.
