Construction Begins on Walter-Peters-Park II Roller Sports Facility

Construction has commenced in Walter-Peters-Park II, Schneverdingen, for a new roller sports facility. The approximately 380,000-euro project is expected to be completed this winter and will cater to enthusiasts up to semi-professionals. The facility, planned by Astar GmbH, is designed to minimize noise pollution, with the skate area moved further from nearby homes.

The facility will be built using in-situ concrete, poured in one piece without joints, ensuring low noise levels and high durability. This method, along with the ground being dug out and filled with gravel, will prevent puddles and secure the ground. The construction, set to begin in November, is being undertaken by company Schneestern.

The facility will feature two separate areas connected by a water-bound path: a balance bike track and a skate and scooter facility. The balance bike track offers varied obstacles and challenges on a circular course with gentle undulations, perfect for young children. The skate area caters to those with some experience up to semi-professionals, with a maximum height difference of 1.15 meters. Garden Marsmann is currently preparing the base layer for the facility.

The roller sports facility is expected to be completed this winter, providing a high-quality space for enthusiasts to enjoy their sport. The facility is being subsidized by the regional development agency with a grant of 296,248 euros, keeping the city's investment manageable.
